My father and my experience as an EMT have significantly influenced my journey to becoming a nurse. The loss of my father in a car accident inspired me to live a life of serving other people. Through the Kids’ Chance of California scholarship, I can continue pursuing my nursing degree at CNI College without the daily anxiety of financial constraints. I strive in my studies as a nurse to balance schoolwork, clinicals, and my work experience as an EMT, where I gain first-hand experience that enhances my knowledge of patient care for the future.

This scholarship not only lifts the financial burden but also makes me feel that I do not travel this path in isolation. It motivates me to keep moving forward on the toughest of days and to pay it back someday by supporting students in the future the way I’ve been supported.
