Losing my dad was one of the hardest things I’ve ever gone through. His passing left a huge hole in my life, and it’s something I carry with me every day. But it also gave me a new sense of purpose. I want to make him proud by pushing forward, even when it’s hard, and by turning pain into something meaningful.

Now I’m studying Psychology at UC Merced, driven by a desire to better understand people and support those going through tough times—just like I did. This scholarship means more than just financial help. It gives me the chance to fully focus on my education, without the constant stress of trying to make ends meet. It allows me to keep moving toward my goals and gives me the space to heal and grow.

I’m truly grateful for this opportunity. It brings me one step closer to becoming someone who can make a difference in the lives of others.
