Kids’ Chance of California
Scholarship Recipient

My dream is to become an engineer to innovate and develop technology that makes the world a better place. As a first-generation, low-income student coming from a single-parent household, receiving a scholarship from Kids’ Chance helps take financial burdens off my shoulders so that I can focus on my academics and career. My mother currently has lung cancer that has spread to both lungs and to her brain, which has heavily impacted my mental health, focus, and concern about finances in the last several years.

With college being more affordable due to Kids’ Chance, I can now more freely explore opportunities and interests without needing to constantly think about how to cover my short- and long-term expenses.

I am grateful for the support I have received from Kids’ Chance and will make the most of my educational opportunities.
