Kids’ Chance of California
Scholarship Recipient

My father passed away two days before my first birthday. He died in a car accident while protecting California’s Highways as a CHP officer. My mom was expecting to celebrate my first birthday, but instead she had to celebrate a funeral. Growing up, I lacked a significant father figure; however, with my mom’s immigrant background paired with my father’s heroic legacy, I learned quickly the value of hard work and perseverance. This hard work and determination helped me to be accepted into the University of California, Davis as an engineering student.

Through the generosity of the Kids’ Chance of California, I plan to use this scholarship to help me move out this year to Davis, so that I can be close to school and be able to focus my abilities in pursuing my goal as a mechanical engineer. This scholarship will significantly alleviate the financial burden of housing, allowing me to dedicate myself fully to achieving my goals.
